It runs quietly in the menu bar. It watches for a live call, records it, and saves it. You can still record anything by hand, like any screen recorder.
It starts when your call starts
ZwayRecord looks for two things at once: a meeting window, and a microphone that is live. Both together means a real call, so an open Meet tab on its own never triggers it.

Saved the moment it ends. No export.
Most recorders keep your video in memory and export it at the end. ZwayRecord writes the real file while it records. When the call ends it stops by itself, and the file is ready right away.

Which meeting apps does it detect?
Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex and Slack huddles. It checks for a meeting window and a live microphone together, so it only starts on a real call.
Does a bot join my meetings?
No. Nothing joins the call. ZwayRecord records your own screen, your microphone and the call audio on your Mac, like a screen recorder would.
Where are my recordings saved?
In the ZwayRecorder folder inside Movies on your Mac. Each file is saved the moment the recording stops.
What if I start a recording myself?
Then it is yours to stop. ZwayRecord only stops recordings it started automatically.
Is my audio uploaded for transcripts?
No. Transcription runs on your Mac. AI notes are optional, and only the finished transcript is sent, only when you click the button.
Can I switch automatic recording off?
Yes, in Settings, along with the chime. You can also cancel it for a single meeting.
